Special issue  

The IAHR-EPD Committee promotes education and professional development through a wide range of activities, collecting good examples and best practices from the academic and business sectors. This issue will summarize the outcomes of two Special Sessions that will be held during the 6th IAHR Europe Congress (15–18 February 2021) in Warsaw, Poland, and during the 39th IAHR World Congress (4–9 July 2021) in Granada, Spain. However, scientific articles, case studies, and reviews not presented during the two congresses are greatly welcome. This issue will be focused on a variety of case studies in hydro-environment engineering and water management that will be presented, such as innovative teaching methods, teaching and training 4.0, serious games, innovative teaching laboratories, and equipment. The main strengths and opportunities for exploiting the results of good projects will be shown, but the weakest points that should be addressed in the future will also be highlighted, aiming to provide the audience with guidelines on education and professional development.

Researchers, practitioners, and water managers working at the frontier between education and practice are welcome to submit their work to this special issue and contribute to the discussion.
